ABC of Iowa’s Statement on Gov. Reynolds’ “Condition of the State” Address

  GRIMES, Iowa (Jan. 9, 2018) — Greg Spenner, president and CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa (ABC), issued the following statement in response to Gov. Kim Reynolds’ “Condition of the State” address:  

“I appreciate Gov. Reynolds’ steadfast leadership on expanding apprenticeship training for Iowans. Her ambitious goal of ensuring 70 percent of Iowa workers have the skills they need to land a job by 2025 is a challenge we take seriously."

“As the largest construction apprenticeship-training program in Iowa, Associated Builders and Contractors looks forward to working with the Reynolds administration to develop the next generation of safe, skilled and productive workers needed to build Iowa and keep our country moving forward.”

This past Sunday, December 31st, Greg Spenner, President & CEO of ABC of Iowa, spoke with Dave Price of WHO TV Channel 13 News' The Insiders.

Spenner explained the skilled worker shortage, common misconceptions and what ABC of Iowa is doing to bridge the gap and educate young people on the rewarding careers in the skilled trades.
