Des Moines, IA – The Green Building Leadership Council of Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa launched a new website, IowaBuildsGreen.com, to serve as a resource for members of the construction industry who want to learn more about “green” practices or sustainable building,
IowaBuildsGreen.com offers information on the newest “green” tools and technology. The site focuses on the benefits of building green. View projects that used sustainable building that were built by Green Building Leadership Council members.
“Our goal is to guide ABC of Iowa members in being leaders in the green construction industry by providing tools for training the green workforce, expanding awareness of green initiatives and resources, and working with public policymakers and building owners to promote green building,” said ABC of Iowa President & CEO Greg Spenner.
The concept of “Green Building” incorporates the entire building process from conception through completion of the building and its life cycle. It includes life cycle costs of the building, construction, energy costs, building maintenance, and the overall impact the building has on its occupants and the environment. Everyone has a responsibility to help save the Earth. By building green, our impact on the environment is reduced and the carbon footprint that we leave behind is much smaller.
