Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today announced the six regional finalists for its 2010 Craft Instructor of the Year award. One will be chosen Feb. 6 as the winner at ABC's National Convention in San Diego.
"Construction craft instructors are in a unique position to help shape the standards and skills for the next generation," said Jerry Gorski, 2009 ABC national chairman and a construction engineer for Gorski Engineering, Inc., Collegeville, Pa. "These finalists have demonstrated a commitment to merit shop construction ideals and to helping create highly-trained, skilled professionals to be the next generation construction craft workers."
This year’s grand prize winner receives a cash prize of $3,500 from the Trimmer Education Foundation, a notebook computer and leather jacket from the National Center for Construction Education and Research, a Craft Instructor of the Year trophy, airfare and hotel accommodations to attend the ABC National Convention in San Diego, one complimentary convention registration (valued at $780) and national recognition through numerous industry publications.
