Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa, Inc. is a trade association that works with construction firms throughout Iowa. The association, through the ABC  of Iowa Education Committee operates several apprenticeship programs that are registered with the United States Department of Apprenticeship/Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (DOA/BAT) and the Veterans Administration (VA) and is recognized by Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) for Department Approved Training (DAT).

The ABC of Iowa apprenticeship programs also operate under the guidelines of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standardized craft training process and utilizes the NCCER's Contren Learning Series text material.
